Reflections Community Consultation

Reflections Community Consultation

Reflections will have staff in town this coming Friday 28th February to Sunday 2nd March (10am – 2pm Reserve Hall) to hear your views on the proposal to resume locking the boom-gate overnight at the headland reserve in an effort to address the illegal camping that has been occurring since Covid.

In conversations with Reflections yesterday they indicated they are also interested in hearing your views on other matters important to you and other members of the Scotts Head community as well.  This could include;

– management of vegetation and infrastructure across the reserve,
– maintenance/management of the day visitor area,
– suitability/condition of visitor area infrastructure: barbeques, shelters, playground equipment
– impact of recent decision to lock the reserve toilets overnight
– waste management (capacity, management, location)
– beach access (accessibility, location, condition of paths, fencing, stairs, handrails, viewing platforms)
– compliance (illegal camping, vehicles on beach, dogs off lead)
– carparking (disabled, car & boat trailer)
– ideas for the Reserve Hall
– use of the Adin Street Reserve
– ideas for community events or other ways Reflections could engage or support the community
– etc

This is a great opportunity to sit down and have a meaningful conversation with a key staff member from Reflections and share your thoughts on this proposal (boom gate) together with other thoughts and ideas you have for the management of the Scotts Head Reserve and the related benefits to the community and village of Scotts Head.

Don’t miss this opportunity (it doesn’t come around very often) so let’s all make the most of it.

Kind regards,
