In July 2024 Nambucca Valley Council endorsed a submission for the preparation of a master plan for the core visitor precinct at Scotts Head, and surrounding community lands. The master planning process will occur in consultation with Reflections Holidays, National Parks and Wildlife Service, Nambucca Valley Council and the community.
Additionally, the Nambucca Valley Council also endorsed opportunities for funding (in full or part) this process under the Nambucca Valley Coastal Management Program.
The master plan will directly inform future work needed to update the Scotts Head Reserve (Reserve 65963) and Adin Street Reserve statutory management plans.
This is great news for the Scotts Head community and a terrific opportunity:
- for the community to contribute to the discussion and put forward their ideas for this key area of our village; and,
- better equip this area to cater for the increasing numbers of holiday makers, day visitors and of course, local residents eager to enjoy all that Scotts Head has to offer both now and into the future.
SHCG is grateful for the continued support of the Nambucca Valley Council, without whose support this very important piece of planning for the future of our village would not be possible.
SHCG Executive members look forward to ongoing collaboration with Nambucca Valley Council to discuss this initiative, with the initial meeting scheduled for late October.
Community updates will be provided as developments occur on this site and also in the Scotts Head Wave monthly newsletter.
